COMPRESSED FIBRE SHEET

Compressed Fibre Sheet & CNAF Gasket Material

Compressed Non-Asbestos Fibre, commonly known as CNAF, is a high-performance gasket and jointing material used where reliable sealing is required under compression, temperature and chemical exposure.

Ashton Seals supplies compressed fibre sheet materials for a wide range of industrial sealing applications, from general-purpose service with water, oils, fuels, gases and low-pressure steam, through to chemical-grade jointing for more demanding media and operating conditions. We can help you select the correct grade and provide material data sheets where required.

What is Compressed Fibre Sheet?

Compressed fibre sheet is a non-asbestos jointing material manufactured from fibres, fillers and rubber binders. It is designed to be cut into gaskets for use between flanges and other sealing faces.
The right material grade depends on the media being sealed, operating temperature, pressure, flange type and application environment.

Typical Applications

Compressed fibre sheet and CNAF gasket materials are commonly used for:

  • Pipe flange gaskets
  • Pumps and valves
  • Water systems
  • Oil and fuel systems
  • Gas sealing applications
  • Low-pressure steam service
  • Chemical processing
  • General industrial maintenance
  • Custom-cut gasket production

Available Compressed Fibre Sheet Grades

Material type                                  Typical use
General purpose CNAF >               Water, oils, fuels, gases and general industrial sealing
Chemical grade jointing  >              Selected acids, alkalis, solvents, oils and fuels
High temperature grades >             Higher temperature and pressure applications
Specialist gasket materials >          Bespoke sealing requirements and technical application

Ashton Seals can help identify the most suitable material for your application and provide technical data sheets where required.
