Anti-Vibration Mounts

With over 40 years of experience, Stop-choc supplies high-quality anti-vibration mounts and shock mounting solutions designed to protect equipment, personnel, and the environment from damaging vibration and impact.
The range includes standard anti-vibration mounts as well as custom-engineered solutions for demanding applications. We manufacture mountings using advanced silicone and synthetic elastomers for high and low temperature environments, alongside durable natural and synthetic rubber options for cost-effective vibration isolation. For applications involving extreme loads or temperatures, we also offer all-metal anti-vibration mountings.

Shock Isolation
Shock protection demands a different approach to vibration isolation. The key to a good shock protection system is its ability to store the energy generated during the shock episode and release this energy slowly, thus protecting the equipment and/or operators from high levels of damaging acceleration.
Shock can come from many sources. From a close range, shock can arise from actual hits by ordinance during military combat, from the unpredictable demands during many types of transportation and from manual or forklift handling where equipment can be dropped onto hard surfaces. In all these cases and other situations, the need to protect expensive and sensitive equipment is essential.
Understanding customer needs is an essential part of choosing the most effective product and whether you have space limitations, packaging constraints, temperature or contamination issues, we will have a shock isolation system to meet your requirements.

Flexible bushes, bonded and semi bonded

They offer the ideal solution where a designer needs to carry load and allow for rotational, conical and linear movements. Unlike conventional bearings, they offer a friction free system with none of the stick or slip issues found in other systems.
As there are no moving parts our bushes are maintenance free as well as providing isolation of vibration and noise. This makes them ideal for swinging arm or wishbone designs on vehicle suspension moving elements in special purpose machines. They also make great pivot points for all sorts of applications.
Flexible bushes offer vibration isolation. They also provide an effective break in the path of structural borne noise and also at reacting extreme loads. Commonly used as torque reaction links on large power trains, rail vehicle traction motor and petrol or diesel engines. More recently because of their high duty they are also found in gearbox mountings for wind turbines and other new projects.

X Mounts

X mounts are manufactured in our purpose built X and Y mount facility. MoD approved X type mounts provide the best shock vibration protection available. X type mounts were conceived to protect equipment carried on ships from shock and vibration caused by explosion underwater. X-mounts were designed and developed to protect shipbourne equipment from vibrations and shock caused by underwater explosions. The mount generally gives better shock and vibration protection than any other mount presently approved for the MoD.
Y Mounts

Y mounts offer similar shock protection to the X mount, with much improved vibration attenuation at higher frequencies. This dramatically reduces noise from equipment from travelling throughout the ship and out into the ocean beyond. Hutchinson Stop-choc have a dedicated X and Y type mount facility where we have designed and fabricated these mounts for many years. Our team of engineers are some of the best qualified with the most experience in the industry.
Drive Couplings
Hutchinson Stop-choc have a wide range of flexible drive couplings to cover all possible applications. When transmitting torque from a drive to a driven shaft, Hutchinson Stop-choc’s extensive range of high quality flexible drive couplings provide the following functionality:
Absorb and damp out irregularities in the transmitted torque

As there are no moving parts or bearings, the systems run silently without the need for greasing and with a much reduced maintenance schedule.
Our lightweight Miniflex couplings can operate at speeds of up to 10,000rpm and our high duty RTP range is capable of handling torque values in excess of 100,000Nm. Where there is no standard part available Stop-choc engineers will be pleased to provide a bespoke solution based on specific customer requirements.
Offshore Mounts

Whether you are mounting large turbine powered compressors, accommodation modules or smaller reciprocating equipment, the need to safely restrain the packages on the decks of fixed or floating platforms remains paramount. Allowing for the structural movements, thermal expansion and contraction and variable stiffness of foundation structures is the key function of this product.
Whilst our product allows for the expansion, contraction and deck movements without transferring these significant loads to the equipment, our product also provides vibration isolation and an effective barrier to the path of structural borne noise. Coupled with the very low profile of our mount design and the short project time scales, this makes our product the first choice throughout the industry. Along with our product we supply a full technical support service throughout the design stage, installation and during product usage. This includes a full data book and installation manual with every installation.
In addition to the mounting of the modules we also supply a full range of exhaust and pipe work anti-vibration mounting systems. These vibration isolation systems will allow for the expansion and contraction of the exhausts and pipe work without transfer of loading. In addition our specialist anti-vibration mounts provide an extremely effective thermal barrier, thus preventing hand rails, ladders and attachments from becoming dangerously hot.
Aerospace Mounts
